While attending the Aerial Videography Field Trip for Advanced Flyers, I shot the day’s events on my Iphone 6plus and edited together a few items afterwards.
On this post you will be able to view my video montages and a must watch seminar from Leigh Hubner (link below). If you are at all interested in making drones a part of your productions you need to hear what he has to say. He discusses the different steps that he takes when determining how a drone can be used in a shoot, his considerations for safety on set, styles and techniques while operating aerial systems, and his outlook on how he sees drones being used in our industry in the future.
Leigh is a D.O.P. and Cinematographer based in Los Angeles. His clients are mainly TV series and News and Investigative Reports. CNN, CBS, Sunday Night (Australian 60 Minutes) are just some of his customers.
He has been using multi-rotor aerials systems for years and now wouldn’t leave home without them.
He currently flies an EVO S-800 (6-rotors) with a Zenmuse 3-axis gimbal with a Panasonic DH4 camera (4k).
I recorded his seminar so that others at Sheridan could learn more about how someone in the field uses drones for their productions.
